I just checked my unabridged dictionary, and one meaning of
"another" is
"different". So I believe that I must accept this student's
appeal.
According to my dictionary, "another" can mean a different one or one
more of the same kind. Since this ambiguity exists, I would vote to
accept 7.
I believe the intent of the word "another" is to
assert an integer exists, as opposed to a non-integral rational. I do not
believe "another" refers to a necessarily "different"
integer. I would therefore deny the appeal.
